Abstract::  Drive within the speed limit will remarkably reduce the amount of traffic accidents and their damages. The "Car speed limit system" is a kind of assistant equipments for drivers. It can help the driver to observe the road speed limit and guarantee safety. This article inquiries primarily into the technical developments of "car speed limit system", and introduces in detail an important experiment plan of "Intelligent Speed Limit" in France - LAVIA.
